Program Development

Multicultural Anti-hate Youth Program

Developed a comprehensive and evidence-backed Multicultural Anti-hate Youth Program for a faith-based community organization in Winnipeg. The aim of the program, which was designed to be youth-led, was to promote intercultural cohesion among youths from underserved communities, equip them with skills on how to address racism and hate, and promote healing.

Outcome: The program was used to secure funding from the federal government's Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program (MARP)

Program Evaluation

Capacity Building and Community Engagement Program

Conducted comprehensive evaluation of a Capacity Building and Youth Engagement Program for Afri-Mama Peace and Cultural Initiative - a grassroots community organization in Winnipeg. The aim of program, which was funded by Africa Centre, was to enhance the organizational and management capacity of Afri-Mama, and to engage with the Black community to identify challenges that need to be addressed.

Outcome: The evaluation report provided impactful insights for Afri-Mama's strategic planning

Policy and Research

Diverse Research on Community Challenges and Policy

Over 150 research reports completed for nonprofits and advocacy groups. Challenges and policy issues researched and analyzed include unemployment, homelessness, substance abuse, mental health, recidivism, sex work, carbon emissions, over-representation, immigration detention, zero-tolerance drug approaches, public drunkenness/disorder and many others.

Outcome: The recommendations provided in these reports informed strategic decision making and policy change

Capacity Building

Community Program Development; Project Management

Trained Board Members of Afri-Mama Peace and Cultural Initiative about fundamentals of project management. Trained members of a Winnipeg Rotary club about how to develop effective community programs that put the community at the center of design and implementation

Outcome: Participants reported increased knowledge and capacity to effectively develop and manage programs

Developed grant applications for nonprofits, including Kenya Association of Manitoba, Bright Mamas Welfare Inc, Afri-Mama Peace and Cultural initiative and many others.

Outcome: Over $1M in awards to grassroots nonprofit organizations

Project Management

Mental Health Awareness Program

Managed a Mental Health Awareness Program for Kenya Association of Manitoba. The program involved delivery of food hampers to over 3000 at risk beneficiaries
